This is a house that has proven a universal favorite, and has been duplicated several times. Owing to the location of this house, we failed to get a good photograph, and in consequence the engraving shown does not do the house justice. It is a much better looking house than is here shown. The kitchen, pantry and dining room connections will be found to be very convenient. Height of first stories, 10 feet; second stories, 9 feet 4 inches. depth of cellar, 6 feet 6 inches, under all except parlor and hall. Interior: Three rooms and front hall on first floor to be in hardwood, natural finish. Balance of house finished for painting, three-coat work. Plastering, three-coat work, hard finish. Plumbing consists of sink and pump in kitchen, bath tub and bowl, with connections, and gas throughout. Outside Materials: Both stories and center belt weather boarded, gables and roof shingled. It is hard to image that there is anything left of the original Pate residence in whats left after the current remuddling. Try to uncover the missing YOC and seek out any additional old or historic photos.
